SECUREcorp announced International Partner of World Renowned Crowd Safety Expert

SECUREcorp are proud to announce our international partnership with Professor, Dr G. Keith Still of Manchester Metropolitan University (UK). Known world-wide for his work in crowd safety, Prof. Still has been a Special Advisor for global events such as the Sydney and London Olympics, the Royal Wedding (Kate and William – 2011) and the Ministry of Hajj (Saudi Arabia).

SECUREcorp’s Director – Events & Projects and former Superintendent of Victoria Police, Mick Williams says this is an outstanding opportunity for SECUREcorp and Australian security.

“Prof. Still has been part of some of the largest crowd related events in the past 25 years, his knowledge and experience is invaluable to our industry and to Australian crowd safety.”

As part of the international partnership, SECUREcorp will be hosting a three day Melbourne-based course for professionals to attend Prof. Still’s Introduction to Crowd Safety and Risk Analysis course. This intensive workshop-style program covers the principles and applications of crowd safety management and risk analysis techniques for places of public assembly.

With the current Australian National Terrorism Threat Level listed as ‘Probable’, the course will provide organisations attending the event, such as premium sporting bodies, retail centres and public event providers, the opportunity to analyse and apply world-class crowd safety methods to their events and facilities.

In a recent interview, Prof. Still explained that this course explores the multiple ways in which attacks can occur and how their evacuation requirements vary.

With more than a third of the course already filled, the remaining places are limited for the Melbourne event.

CEO of SECUREcorp, Craig Hanley, says he is very pleased with the industry feedback he has received for the course so far.

“The feedback has been very positive, a lot of Australian organisations are already aware of Prof. Still’s work and his courses and when we discussed the possibility of Prof. Still visiting Australia for this course, we already had organisations asking for places at the event.”

Given the high demand for this course SECUREcorp are now looking into potential courses in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The Melbourne course will run from the 13th – 15th of July, this year. To find out more or secure your position at the event, click here.
